Xavier Delposen is Managing Director and CEO of the Schuler Group of companies, a Luxembourg family business, where he is in charge of the management and development of a real-estate portfolio with a value of approximately €300 million including offices, retail units, industrial space and apartments to rent or for sale.
The Schuler Group is one of most innovative companies in the Luxembourg building sector, with passive and nearly zero-energy buildings such as Horizon and Solarwind. The group plans major investments in renewable energy production, is active in the car and truck rental business through its subsidiary Intralux Locations, and recently signed partnerships in the electro-mobility and car-sharing sectors.
Xavier leads the Hollerich Village project, endorsed as a One Planet Community and developed in partnership with local public and private stakeholders. The group’s aim is that the eco-district will be a ground-breaking pilot scheme in Luxembourg, creating an urban hub that strengthens the local economy thanks to sustainable development achievements, with a particular focus on social and cultural aspects. Additionally, the Schuler group is one of the founders of Ecoparc Windhof, an Interreg C2C and smart grid project.
Xavier is a building and mining engineer who also holds an Executive MBA from ESADE Barcelona. He is member of the FJD, the Luxembourg young business managers’ association, of Lucéole, a citizens’ cooperative for the development and investment in renewable energy in southern Belgium, and he also supports the public participation initiatives of the Transition Town movement. He is a frequent public speaker on building long-term business strength through sustainability innovation and on energy or ecological transition.
