2016 has been a year of transition and renewal for Bioregional Australia Foundation, as it has for communities globally. As we transition to 100 per cent renewables as part of One Planet Living, we must continuously strive to adapt, with our eyes firmly on the vision of creating happy, healthy and affordable living for all people. Now is the time to innovate, test, and pilot new initiatives in order to make it easier for people live a One Planet lifestyle.
This year we have re-established the Australia One Planet Program, working closely with the Bioregional international team including co-founder, Pooran Desai and International Technical Director, Ben Gill, along with the Bioregional Australia Foundation board. We have set a new strategy for the organisation and re-engaged with clients and community across Australia and the region. Internationally, the shift towards a new global One Planet platform will enable more communities and organisations to utilise the international framework to transition to One Planet Living.
Our clients, members and faculty continuously strive for exemplar goals and targets across the ten principles as they implement their One Planet Action Plans. With active projects in communities, councils and companies Bioregional Australia is working with large and small organisations, corporate, government and non-profit organisations to support their transition to One Planet Living. From eco-villages to large residential communities and ecotourism, precinct plans to infill development and planning legislation, the One Planet Living framework is being used to drive change in our urban and regional centres.
In 2017 we will support more communities on their journey of continuous improvement towards healthy happy and affordable living. Over the next year Bioregional Australia will broaden its member base, share learning through case studies and develop research in support of the ten principles, goals and targets for Australian application. We invite you to join us on the journey.
We thank our members for their commitment and continued support of Bioregional Australia Foundation and wish you all a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.
